The Gutenberg printing press:
The Gutenberg printing press led to a great printing book revolution.
The Gutenberg printing press is one of the most important inventions at the time. In 1455 the Gutenberg demonstrated the power of printing press by selling copies of 82 volume Bible known as the Gutenberg Bible. Each page of the book had 42 lines the page was handmade and each page contain a watermark. At first 180 copies were made and most of them on paper although some work printed on vellum a kind of parchment.
The printed Bible proved quite popular and the stork was quite sold out the Gutenberg Bible was the first major book printed using mass produced movable type which ultimately made it significantly cheaper than a handwriting Bible.
This lead to the Gutenberg Revolution which led to the age of the printed books.
